Summer Bucket List 2016

Hey y’all! I’m back after a long unannounced hiatus hehe. I was caught up with school work. Like, a lot of school work.
Anyways, I’m really happy that summer break has started. It means that I can cut down on the studying a bit (college why you so tough to get into ugh) & have fun (uhhhh…..?).
So, like the last 2 years, I made a summer bucket list. Again. Hold the eye roll, because I haven’t made a 66 item list like last year. Instead, it has lesser, more doable items, that, uh, I hope I’ll be able to do. And, I might randomly add stuff to the list if I feel like it.

More from the S.B.L.’15

Hey everyone! Here are some of the remaining bucket list items which I attempted (yes, yes, I know – this post is hella late).

Oh, & this may be obvious, but I’m kinda rushing through this post.

#19.Make a fabulous cake.

It looked better before I stuck it into the refrigerator. Seriously.

#24.Make a lyric drawing.

I’m a bit in love with this song. And I’m really proud of that door in the corner, I don’t know why.

#55.See the sunset.

I don’t have any words for this.

#44. Eye bomb.

Pine-ing after you.

Bear-y funny.

I SEE your mischief.

#49.Have a pet rock.

I painted a stone. It was rock-ing. (Pun might’ve been intended.)

I did some other list items too, but I don’t have any pictures for them, so I’ll just summarise them.

#64.Go bicycling.

I did this with two of my friends. It was all fun & games until my friend’s bicycle broke down in the middle of a road. What even.

#56.Glow in the dark bubbles.

This was a Pinterest fail. Nothing – literally nothing – happened. I poured the glow stick solution into the bubble mix & blowed some bubbles, but they were just ordinary ones. They didn’t glow. Sad.

#34.Ding Dong Ditch.

This was kinda fun. I was walking around the neighbourhood with my friends & out of nowhere we decided to attempt this. Heeheehee.

I won’t be on much in the coming few months, so I’ve scheduled a bunch of posts. I’ll try to come on a few times though, to check the comments & stuff. So comment, my adorable pommes de terre! 😉

Until next time,

À la plage.

Hello everybody! Last week, I was at my sister’s place, which happens to be near the beach.
I did a few bucket list items there.
#7. Pull an all-nighter.
This one was kind of a fail, but I’m not willing to attempt another all-nighter, so I’ll count this one. I did this the night before/on which I was supposed to leave for my sister’s place. Up until 3.30 am (which was when I was supposed to “wake up”) I listened to music & kinda zoned out. Then I “woke up”, got dressed, & left for the airport. By the time I got into the plane, it was already 6.15 am, which was when my all-nighter officially got completed. Yay.

#12. Build a sandcastle.
We attempted to make a sandcastle without buckets & shovels, & this was the outcome.

#54. See the sunrise.
We set our alarms for 5 am as the sunrise was to be at 5:47 am (we googled it). We finally got out of bed at about 5:15, & we left the house a bit after 5:30, which resulted in us reaching the beach just in the nick of time (walking to the beach that’s the closest to the house takes 15 minutes).

While heading to the beach.

Fossa ooh!

Fossa aah!

After watching the sunrise we had breakfast at a 24-hour restaurant at the seaside. It was great.

#4.Go bowling.

We went mini bowling at the local arcade. It was quite fun (except for the part that I didn’t win).

The ball was so tiny!

Afterwards we played air hockey. And then we attempted to play a car racing game in which we couldn’t quite understand the objective.

Here are some other pictures from the trip-

tried to take a tumblr-esque picture.

Blue pancakes, homemade ice cream & more

Hello everybody! Here is the much-procrastinated summer bucket list update post!

#58. Make coca cola lip balm.

I saw this on YouTube back in February & decided to put it on my summer bucket list (I have no idea why). I made the container, & then attempted to make the lip balm cola flavoured. BIG FAIL.

The lip balm now smells like an artificially flavoured fruit salad. Oh well.

#60. Make a washer necklace.

This is the first item that I attempted this summer, & I think the necklace turned out pretty well. It’s one of my favourite colours too!

The front.

The back (it has my initials!)

The back (it has my initials.)

#18. Make homemade ice-cream.

I made this with Pancake Monarch the other night.

The instructions said to add in vanilla essence, milk & sugar into a small ziploc bag & then put it into a larger ziploc bag that’s filled with ice & rock salt. I tried trusting my non-existent cooking senses (what was I even thinking?) & didn’t measure the vanilla essence, which resulted in a foul tasting vanilla “ice-cream”.

Ugh, I’m an idiot.

In the bag.

End product.

#15. Make purple pancakes.

As you can see, this isn’t even remotely purple.

DSC00944  DSC00947

I didn’t have any red food colouring, so I tried using “Orange Red”, & the batter turned a hideous greenish-purple. I added in lots of blue food colour to turn it back into blue.

The morning ended with attempting to make the pancakes look appetizing by adding on vanilla ice cream & chocolate syrup & Pancake Monarch saying, “What were you even trying to do?

I’ve done a few more things from the list apart from these. A post about those will be up soon! 🙂

Until next time,

My Summer Bucket list 2015 is up! ☼

I finally put it up on this blog. Woohoo. You can check it out here.

There are 66 items in total (I know that seems like a lot), & I plan on doing (or at least attempting) each & every one. No exceptions. The time is from May’15 to June’15.

And no, my summer break doesn’t start in the beginning of May. I just want to do some of the items with a friend who’s gonna come here in early May (she lives in another state; her grandparents live here), & task #14. Celebrate Cartoonist’s Day, must be done on 5th May.We’re not even going to do anything important in school after the first week of May.

Anyways, this summer, I plan on blogging every item properly, unlike last year. And not sleeping in until noon every single day.

And since there’s not anything else I’d like to say,

Adios! ✌☮

☼ ☼ ☼

Remaining bucket list items

I ended up completing some of the remaining tasks in the first two weeks of July, then I got busy with stuff, hence the (extremely) delayed post.

22.Set a dandelion on fire.

I got the idea for this from here-

Or maybe it wasn’t a dandelion. The latter is more probable.

It’s all blurry

After burning

15.Pick an official summer anthem.

Tough one, so I ended up picking 2-

1)Pursuit of Happiness – Kid Cudi

2)Don’t Stop – 5SOS

6.Make a time capsule.

Inside are ticket stubs, a coin, the letter to myself (task 3 on my life bucket list) & some more stuff.

1.Get a tan tattoo.

I don’t have a picture 😦 It faded too quickly. Urgh. It was a tiny heart on my left arm, but the outline wasn’t very clear.

31.Try to finish Mario Forever.

I’m so sorry, Mario. I got you killed too many times.

♪ ♩♬ ♫ ♪ ♩♬ ♫ ♪ ♩♬ ♫

Until next time,

Blanket fort, scrapbook, & too many pictures

I can’t even believe that I’m actually following a to-do task list. Usually I just make task lists & forget about them. Achievement! *pat on back* *round of applause*

Right now I’m listening to Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen‘s theme song on repeat. One of the best movies. Ever.

That wasn’t even relevant. Anyways, I completed 4 more tasks, & I hope you won’t get bored while reading this post because it’s sort of blah.

27. Take lots of pictures.

I have taken over 500. That is a lot for someone like me i.e. someone who’s usually too lazy to press the capture button.

17. Make a scrapbook.

Doing this was way more fun than expected.

Lotsa pics!

I tried making a Lilly Pulitzer print…

First page

29. Build a blanket fort.

1. I made a blanket fort.

2. I took a picture of it.

3. I lay down in it.

4. The blankets fell on my face 5 minutes later. Great.

Snug as a bug in a rug drinking tea out of a mug.

18. Play with chalk.

It’s so obviously not a sidewalk.

Until next time,

P.S. As this post is the 5th post of this summer, Task 20 – 5 blog posts is also completed. Yay!

Watermelon carving, cupcakes & Summer Playlist.

*awkwardly tries to start blog post*

Let’s skip the introduction part of this post, okay? Okay.

(Please excuse the TFIOS pun, or whatever it was.)

34. Make a summer playlist.

My summer playlist is still incomplete, but it has over 20 songs, which means it qualifies as a playlist (according to me). And I’m getting obsessed with High School Musical once again. Oops.

Summer Playlist

Summer – Calvin Harris

Summer Forever – Megan Nicole

Cruise – Florida Georgia Line

Wannabe – Spice Girls

All of the Stars – Ed Sheeran

Try Hard – 5SOS

Better Than Words – 1D

Let Her Go- Passenger

Sing – Ed Sheeran

Bounce – Iggy Azalea

Burn – Ellie Goulding

Enter Sandman – Metallica

Live My Life – Far East Movement

Wherever You Are – Sam Tsui

I Wish – Cher Lloyd ft. T.I.

Pursuit of Happiness – Kid Cudi

Take a Walk – Passion Pit

She Looks So Perfect – 5SOS

All for One – HSM 2

Everyday – HSM 2

I Don’t Dance – HSM 2

Work This Out – HSM 2

Talk Dirty vs. Problem – Mashup

The Reckless & the Brave – All Time Low

Somewhere in Neverland – All Time Low

Boom – ’tis a summer playlist. There’s a bunch of other songs too, but I can’t remember them right now.

 28. Make watermelon cupcakes.

For this, I basically put in flour, milk, oil, vanilla essence, red food colouring, etc, etc, & prayed for the best. I’d read that while using food colouring, it’s important to remember that a little goes a long way, So I put in 5 drops of colouring & mixed the batter. The colour obtained was….cotton candy pink. I added more, then even more, but before I could reach red, I ran out of food colouring. Seriously. Even after using up a whole bottle of red, I got stuck with bright pink.

3……out of food colour.

Thankfully, after baking, it turned into red.

Praise the lord

The frosting was made with sugar, milk & green colouring.

It looks like it’s from outer space

Forgot to add chocolate chips. Sad.

33. Carve a watermelon.

Doing this task was really fun – more fun than drawing a mustache on someone who’s asleep. Along with a beard. With permanent marker.

All hollowed out.

Boo ya!

➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳

May your summer be awesome,

Pizzas & fried Oreos (& more).

In the last two weeks, I did a few more tasks. Plus, I attempted the Harry Potter Marathon last Saturday, & failed miserably. I managed to make it to Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban. I guess I’ll try again sometime.

And the tan tattoo is in progress. I’m pretty happy with the way my tan looks right now, but the tattoo isn’t really visible, because when I went to the pool a few weeks ago, I forgot about the tan tattoo & accidentally tanned on the patch that shouldn’t get tanned. Hence, I need to tan a bit more.

#30. Make a Brownie in a Mug.

I ended up doing this task at 3 in the morning with Pancake Monarch, because we were not sleepy at all & we were like really, really bored. Luckily for us, nobody woke up because of the beeping microwave & the clattering caused by our clumsiness. Phew. The brownies were really delicious, especially paired with the ice cream.

#12. Make a dream catcher.

I don’t really know what to write for this. But here it is.

#26. Doodle on self.

I did this task twice, & I’m not really sure which one I’ll count. Attempt One was basically fake henna with a brown felt pen. Attempt two was mindless doodling, in which none of the doodles can be made out to be what they were originally supposed to be. But it was fun, so who cares?

I don’t even know.

#35. Make pizza from scratch.

Okay, be warned, if you’re ever going to attempt making pizza dough, be prepared for the terrible smell caused by the yeast. It was pretty unbearable. And while trying to knead the dough, my fingers got stuck in it. But the end product was beyond delicious – way better than any other pizzas I’ve tasted.

The dough (with 3 bananas photo bombing).

before oven 2

Before going into the oven

#32. Try fried Oreos.

I read the tutorial for this on WikiHow. It said that the Oreos should be chilled for 4 hours. I left them in the refrigerator for about 7 hours. And I added cocoa powder to the pancake batter, which made it all the more better, I think (better batter, better batter, better batter….it can be a tongue twister!).

The fried Oreos were really good, but, I’d rather just eat oreos & pancakes together, because I’m lazy yo.
